It is the responsibility of the advisor to be available to the president of the association to answer questions and to help “put out fires” across the district. The advisor should be a person the president can run something by to see what the reaction might be before it goes out to all the other officers or members.
The president is not bound by past events; however, all officers and members are bound by the rules and bylaws of this organization and should work together in the best interest of its membership.
The advisor should be available as a sounding board and to offer support and advice where needed.
Best thing about being the advisor is that you have already “been there, done that” and no one is looking at you anymore!
