It has been a vibrant and productive year for the North Central District (NCD) of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Administrative Professionals Association! From collaborative business planning to meaningful community outreach and professional development, here is a quick look at what our district accomplished during our 2026 Spring and Fall gatherings.

Spring Meeting Highlights Hosted at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Chatham County Center on April 15, 2026

  • Warm Welcome and New Faces: We welcomed four new members to our district family: Sonni Dudley (Guilford), Alona Thomas (Guilford), Elijah Umrani (Guilford), and Jada Hines (NC A&T Campus).
  • Engaging Education: Members enjoyed a Family & Consumer Sciences presentation and hands-on activities led by Chatham County FCS Agent, Tara Gregory.
  • Celebrating Excellence: Annette Roberson (Vance) was recognized as the 2025 NCD Administrative Professional of the Year!
  • Community Service: District members came together to collect and donate essential feminine hygiene products to support local high school students in Chatham County.
  • Reflecting on Success: We celebrated the overwhelming success of hosting the 2025 State Conference ("Glow with the Flow"), featuring team-building, professional workshops, a Glow Dance Party, and a Murder Mystery Dinner.

Fall Meeting Highlights Hosted by Area 5 at the Wilkes County Center on August 14, 2026

  • Agri-Tourism and Learning: Members visited the Hidden Happiness Bee Farm in Deep Gap, NC. Owner H.S. Greene gave an insightful and entertaining presentation on honeybee biology, life cycles, and the vital role pollinators play in our environment.
  • Giving Back: Our community service focus shifted to supporting "Our House," a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting vulnerable children and supporting families in crisis. Members brought generous physical and monetary donations.
